Patrick McDermott, CEO of DigiTally, has over 25 years of experience in the hospitality and stocktaking industry. Driven by the alarming levels of food waste and inefficient stock management practices, Patrick co-founded DigiTally in 2016 with Artur Leonowicz.

DigiTally offers a groundbreaking digital stocktaking solution aimed at reducing food waste, minimising financial losses and lowering the environmental impact of food service businesses. The company’s innovative approach to addressing these issues has earned Patrick several awards and industry nominations.

In 2022, Patrick reached out to us with a clear mission to refresh DigiTally’s messaging and website, positioning the company as a leader in food waste management and sustainability, well beyond its stocktaking roots. The goal was to better capture the attention of DigiTally’s ideal clients.

Strategy

To help DigiTally achieve its goals, we implemented the following:

  • Developed a comprehensive StoryBrand Messaging Guide that emphasised DigiTally’s commitment to reducing food waste, lowering the carbon footprint of the food service industry and promoting sustainability.
  • Conducted a complete website overhaul to enhance the user experience and reflect DigiTally’s new focus.
  • Generated what we call ‘Reverse PR’ by launching the Food Service Matters podcast in 2023. Hosted by Patrick, the podcast dives into the food service industry’s challenges and opportunities, with each episode followed by a blog post and LinkedIn updates.
  • Organised a series of roundtable events in London, hosted by Patrick, bringing together key industry stakeholders to discuss critical topics and foster networking.
