The Task
At Finesse, we believe in the power of human-to-human (H2H) marketing – an approach to business growth that’s built on trust, emotion and real connection. For this reason, the Finesse team set about creating an event to bring this philosophy to life, so people could move from hearing about H2H marketing to actually experiencing it.
Our goal was to host a meaningful, small-scale, live event that would spark real conversations, connect like-minded professionals and offer a fresh perspective on how marketing can feel more personal and more effective.
Beyond showcasing a service, we wanted to create an experience that truly embodied our values as a boutique PR and marketing agency.
The Challenge
In today’s fast-paced, often transactional marketing landscape, people crave genuine connection. They want authenticity. But creating space for meaningful interaction – without it feeling staged or sales-driven – requires careful, thoughtful planning.
Our purpose was not simply to fill a room. We wanted to curate the right atmosphere by inviting the right people and offering just enough structure and thought leadership to inspire conversation and enable guests to connect organically, on their own terms.
As a PR agency, the aim was to let the event speak for our expertise in creating connection-led moments. It was a live expression of what we do best: strategic communication, emotional resonance and connection-led thinking, while subtly reminding guests of our expertise.

The Event
Held in May 2025 at Emma’s Kitchen – an inviting, female-owned café in Malta – the Finesse Business Breakfast brought together a carefully selected group of professionals from a range of industries and disciplines.
The venue was chosen intentionally. As a female-led agency and all-female team, we’re mindful about working with others whose values and ethos align with ours. Supporting a local, woman-owned business resonated with our mission and with the thoughtful, people-first marketing we advocate for.
That same principle extended to the gifts we prepared. Each guest received a recycled notebook – a small but evocative reminder of our commitment to sustainability. We also made a donation to plant eight trees in their honour and in honour of the event. A symbolic gesture to mark the moment and a nod to mutual growth, both personal and professional.
The guest list was equally intentional: a mix of existing clients, trusted collaborators and professionals we admire and wanted to get to know better. By bringing together people from complementary industries and backgrounds, we aimed to create value by sparking new connections, insights and possibilities.
Some of the guests already working with us included:
- Robyn Pratt – General Manager, The Phoenicia Malta
- Paul Cuschieri – Architect, Cuschieri Architects
- Charlene Vella Portelli – Head of Vibe & Comms, Game Lounge
- Olga Navarro – General Manager, Hans Travel & Lifestyle
- Alison Spiteri Sacco – Owner of Palazzo Castagna and Director at Evolve by RS Group
During the breakfast, Finesse CEO Jo Caruana gave a short presentation on emerging and established marketing trends, including how brands are using emotion, personalisation and storytelling to build trust and engagement. Rather than a sales pitch, this was a conversation starter – a prompt to encourage attendees to think about what H2H principles could mean for their business and how small shifts in strategy could elevate their marketing.
Success Achieved
The event resonated deeply, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Guests lingered long after the official end, sharing reflections, swapping contact details and even making plans to reconnect over coffee.
Our follow-up emails received thoughtful replies, with guests highlighting just how impactful the morning had been.

More than just a successful gathering, the event became a living example of what Finesse stands for: human-centred strategy, influential storytelling and relationship-focused thinking that leaves a lasting impression.
Conclusion
This Business Breakfast wasn’t about showcasing our brand or offering a formula for success. It was about living it by creating the right conditions for people to connect, engage in thoughtful exchanges and share inspiration – the same people-first mindset we bring to every PR and marketing strategy we craft for our clients.
For us, and for our guests, it was a reminder that H2H marketing works. It resonates. It builds relationships. And it starts with one simple question:
How can we make this more human?
